Bernice E. “Bea” Winner, 98, of Jacksonville, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Heritage Health in Jacksonville.

She was born Nov. 30, 1913, in Scott County, the daughter of William and Anna Northrup Seeman. She married Ernest R. Winner on Mar. 29, 1941, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 1974.

She is survived by one daughter, Sandra A. Winner of Jacksonville, with whom she made her home for many years; a step-daughter, June (Francis) Branstitter of Winter Haven, FL; a grandson, Thomas A. Pasano; and a great-grandson, Dareon. She is also survived by her son, Tom Winner and his family. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Elmer, Mike, Jim, Buck, Melvin and her twin-brother, Bernard; and three sisters, Della Brackett, Mildred Eilers and Laura Kilver.

Mrs. Winner worked for the Black family for 30 years. She was fondly known as “Grandma Bea”.

Following cremation, private family services will be held at a later date with burial at Union Baptist Cemetery near Pisgah. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the family home, 240 Pine Street. Memorials are suggested to PAWS.
