Anna Mae Moore, 62, of Jacksonville, IL died Sunday, July 29, 2012, at Liberty Village in Pittsfield, IL.
She was born March 31, 1950 in Springfield; the daughter of Charles E. and Naoma Hawk Moore.
She is survived by a brother, Harvey L. Moore of Jacksonville; a sister, Janis K. Thomson of rural Winchester; a niece, Jamie K. Peek (husband, Jimmy) and their daughter, Addison Rae, all of Jacksonville; and a special friend, Steve Hardy of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Nancy Rae Moore.
Anna Mae was a 1968 graduate of Jacksonville High School and attended MacMurray College. She was a telephone operator for GTE in Jacksonville for 18 years, later working for Colorcraft and then Huck’s Convenience Store as the delicatessen manager. She was a gifted artist and an avid reader.
Graveside funeral services will be held 10:00 am Friday, August 3, 2012, at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, south of Jacksonville. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers and in recognition of her love of animals, memorial gifts are suggested to Scott County Animal Rescue.
