Melva A. Bringman

Melva A. Bringman, 83, of Jacksonville, IL died Friday evening, August 10, 2012 at her residence.

She was born January 5, 1929 in Fort Madison, Iowa; the daughter of Elmer Roy and Anna Rose Duff Lange. She married Donald B. Bringman on June 5, 1949 at the Wesley Foundation on the University of Illinois campus in Urbana, IL. He preceded her in death on June 20, 2008.

She is survived by four children, Barry E. Bringman (wife, Debbie) of Chatham, Randall D. Bringman (wife, Esta) of Canon City, CO, Donna Bringman McCurley of Jacksonville, and Jeni S. Heaton (husband, Rollin) of Annandale, NJ; 10 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister, Lucile Watkins of Tempe, AZ; and nine nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Leo R. Lange.

Mrs. Bringman was a homemaker and devoted mother. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville with the Rev. Mike Fender officiating. The family will meet friends at the funeral home from 10:00 am Wednesday until the time of services. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services and graveside committal services will be held 11:00 am Thursday at Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville.
