Harvey F. Crain, 72, of Jacksonville, IL died Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Heritage Health in Jacksonville.

He was born June 1, 1940 in Centerville, IA; the son of Robert Isaac and Anna Florence Buchanan Havens. He married Brenda Havens on May 24, 1974 in Virginia, IL and she survives.

He is also survived by six children, Helen Elliott of Greenfield, Harvey F. Boatman of CT, Kenneth Robert Boatman of Jacksonville, Norma Jean Workman of MO, Christopher Michael Crain of Jacksonville, and Isaac Scott Crain of Jacksonville; several grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Frankie C. Ballard of White Hall and Terry Lee Ballard of Roodhouse; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a step sister, LouVon Gounds.

Mr. Crain served with the US Army in Germany from 1960-1962. He was employed as a union laborer in the construction industry. He was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses and VFW Post #1379.
