Obituary

Adelisa "Addy" Rose Johnson passed away on January 23, 2026, at the age of 15. Born in Jacksonville, Illinois, Addy was a vibrant, kind-hearted girl who loved deeply and lived fully. She had a rare gift for making others feel seen and valued, and she brought immense joy and light to everyone she met.

Addy's smile could brighten any room, and her laughter was contagious. She loved people—without judgment and without limits—and if you knew her, even briefly, you were lucky. She had a way of making the world feel warmer, lighter, and more hopeful just by being in it.

Addy loved being active and embracing life's adventures. She was involved in student government and enjoyed playing sports, including basketball, volleyball, soccer, and track. She also loved playing the drums for the First Christian Church and was planning to play golf this spring. Always energetic and fearless, she was never one to turn down a new experience and was always up for any adventure.

She is survived by her loving parents, Desa and Mick Walls; her brothers, Jaden Johnson, Zaidyn Jeffries, Isaiah Martinez-Walls, and Masen Johnson; her sisters, Mikenna Walls, Taleeah Jeffries, and Aleah Walls; her grandparents, Sheryl Johnson and Glenda and Jonathan Walls; her uncles, Jamie Johnson (Michelle) and Clifford Johnson (Sara); her aunt Jasmine Walls; her cousins, Nevin Johnson, Noah Johnson, Jonah Johnson, Justin Johnson, Bryce Johnson, and Jade Thompson; her furry friend, Kobe; and many cherished friends who will carry her memory forward.

Addy did not simply exist in the world-she shined. Her kindness, love, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held 3 PM Sunday, February 1, 2026, at The Chapel, 428 E. College, Jacksonville. The family will meet friends 1-3 PM, and in honor of Addy please feel free to wear Pink. Memorials are suggested to The Chapel, Jacksonville Public Schools Foundation (to support JHS Athletics), or Jacksonville Drumline Institute. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home is in charge of services. Condolences may be left at buchanancody.com.
