Allen Monroe Emmons, born April 18, 1939, passed away at age 83 on February 23, 2023, in Jacksonville, IL. He was the son of Giles and Beulah (Miers) Emmons, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him are his brother, Wendell Emmons; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Emmons; great grandsons, Zavier Wyatt and Zavion Stone; and his sister, Vivian Emmons. He is survived by his son, Gregory A. Emmons; four grandchildren, Nicole Miller, Michael P. Miller, Joshua Graham, and Sierra Miller; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. Mr. Emmons lived and worked in Jacksonville his entire life. He was fondly nicknamed "Tiger" by his co-workers at Production Press, where he spent half his life working. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going bowling, being at the Moose Lodge, fishing, and playing cards and poker. A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Thursday, March 9, 2023, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with burial at Jacksonville East Cemetery.
