On February 18, 2023, Angela Kay Large Zachary, 56, of Jacksonville, Illinois lost her battle with cancer with her family at her bedside at Barnes Jewish Christian Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Angela was born in Jacksonville at Passavant Hospital and is survived by her son Nicholas Cosgriff and his fiance, Kelsey Singleton; her mother Catherine Ann Large; her father Robert J. Large (wife Sue and stepson Scott Moreland); her brother James "Jimmy" Large (wife Jodi), niece Madison Large, and nephew Conor Large of Texas. She is also survived by her aunt, Cindy Large-Tavender and uncles Mark Large, Gary Large and 12 cousins. In 2002 she married the love of her life, Ryan Zachary, who preceded her in death in May 2010. Angela graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1985 and Patricia Stevens School in St Louis. Soon she discovered that her course in life was to follow four generations of her family in the painting business, which eventually led to her ownership of J. B. Large and Sons Painting Contractors in Jacksonville. Angela was a member of Kiwanis and enjoyed being active in and supporting the Jacksonville area community. More than anything, Angela lived for sharing time and laughter with Ryan, Nick, family and her dear friends who were her extended family. Angela loved riding their Harley with Ryan and after his passing, spending holidays and weekends at Lake of the Ozarks cooking on the grill, entertaining and relaxing with the people she loved. A celebration of life gathering will be hosted by the family from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023, at the Hangout in Jacksonville. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Mia Ware Foundation or P.A.W.S of Jacksonville. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is assisting the family.
