Ann Schaddel, 95, of Ashland, IL, died, Friday, Sept. 8, 2023, at Country Lane Memory Care in Riverton.

She was born April 25, 1928, in Mt. Sterling, the daughter of Clyde and Ida (Newby) Seaborn. She married Jack Schaddel, Sr. on April 28, 1951, in Ashland, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 2007.

She is survived by four children, Nancy Eck, Jack Schaddel, Jr. (wife, Donna), Cathy Bomke (husband, Brian), and Tammy Stone (husband, Rik); twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; six step grandchildren; and twenty-five step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son-in-law, Albert Eck.

Ann graduated from Brown County High School and St. John's School of Nursing. She worked part time at St. John's Hospital and for several nursing homes. She was a full-time mother and wife. Ann belonged to Lady Landowners, Home Extension, Ashland Women's Club, St. Augustine Alter Society, and New Salem Lincoln League.

A funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM Monday, Sept. 11, 2023, at St. Augustine Church in Ashland, with burial at St. Augustine Cemetery, west of Ashland. The family will meet friends from 10:00 -11:00 AM prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Augustine Church or Pleasant Plains Helping Hands Food Pantry.
