Annette Shaver, 96, of Jacksonville, IL passed away Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024, at Jacksonville Skilled Nursing & Rehab.

She was born June 15, 1928, the daughter of Joshua Daniel and Lorene (Lenon) Morgan. She married Ramon N. Shaver on Sept. 22, 1951, in Quincy and he preceded her in death on Nov. 25, 2009.

She is survived by her son, Kent (Theresa) Shaver of Mt. Sterling; her daughter, Sherri (David) Gregory of Concord; five grandchildren, Brianne (Andrew) Murphy, Ashley Zimmerman, Danielle Shaver (Matt Thompson), Justin (Robyn) Maher, and Vanessa Maher (Connor Carmody); ten great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Arlene Hayes of Macon, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three sisters, Betty Thompson, Margaret Sons, and Norma Gibbins.

Mrs. Shaver graduated from Callao (MO) High School and then from Blessing Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for Drs. Vargas, Shulman and Bailis in Pittsfield for many years, and then for Jacksonville Skilled Nursing until her retirement. She was a member of Central Christian Church. Annette was a quilting extraordinaire and a wonderful seamstress. She was also a great cook, and was well-known for her homemade rolls, noodles, and especially her apple pies.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024, at Griggsville Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Griggsville Cemetery Association. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be left at buchanancody.com.
