Austin Paul Norton, 28, of Jacksonville, IL passed away Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024.

He was born July 9, 1996, in Jacksonville, the son of Chris and Bridgete (Embree) Norton.

He is survived by his parents of Jacksonville; his maternal grandfather, Gary Paul Embree of Jacksonville; paternal grandfather, Richard Norton of Jacksonville; paternal grandmother, Nancy Hankins of Jacksonville; paternal aunt, Michelle Norton of Oklahoma City, OK and her children, Courtney "Peaches" Norton (companion Dallas Perez) and Blaze Cumby; and many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Linda (Memaw) Embree.

Austin had many close friends. He enjoyed video games, reptiles, and loved his dog, Atlas. He was outgoing and emotionally passionate, tried to have a positive impact on everyone, and wanted to help anyone in need. He was a big kid who was spoiled by his Memaw. Austin was also very huggy and loved his mom's cookies. But his mom always got the last hug, "I love you more, I win!".

A memorial visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Memorials are suggested for food or cash donations to PAWS of Jacksonville. Condolences may be left at buchanancody.com.
