Barbara Chasteen, 83, of Beardstown, IL, died Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Beardstown Heath and Rehab Center.

She was born March 29, 1941, the daughter of Wilbur and Martha (Weedman) Morton. She first married Troy Walden, then Jim Draper, and then finally Wayne Chasteen. They all preceded Barbara in death.

She is survived by her sons, Jerry (Connie) Walden of Topeka, KS, and David Draper of Ripley and ex daughter-in-law, Dawn Draper; daughters, Susan Draper of Holdenville, OK, and Yvonne Draper of Okmulgee, OK; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and brothers, David Morton of Millstadt and Jimmy Morton of Arkansas; and sister, Dreama K. Jackson of Arkansas. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Troy Walden, Jim Draper, and Wayne Chasteen; daughter, Cynthia Draper; and grandchildren, Jerry Walden Jr. and Toni Potter Jr.

Barbara was a stay-at-home mom, raising her five children. She attended Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Beardstown.

Cremation rites will be accorded, and services will be held at a later date by the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be left online at buchanancody.com.
