Barbara Correll, 64, of Ashland, Illinois, passed away Wednesday June 17, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born August 13, 1961, the daughter of Robert and Alta (Higgenbotham) Wolf. She married Preston Correll on September 14, 1996, at the Church of Christ in Pleasant Plains and he survives.

Along with her husband, she is survived by her children: Mandy (Travis) Kennedy), Jacklyn (Adam Suffern) McGrew, Michelle (Richard) Guffey, and Nicolle (Alex Fanning) Correll; thirteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three bonus grandchildren, and one fur grandbaby. Barbara is also survived by five sisters; three brothers; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter Mackenzie Suffern in infancy; her siblings, Mary Brown and brother Anthony in infancy; and grandchild, baby Guffey.

Barbara spent several years working at the Presbyterian Day Care Center in Jacksonville where she formed strong bonds with the teachers and loved taking care of the children. She loved baking, and her friends and family loved it when she baked. Barbara also enjoyed gardening, working out in the yard, and reading books of any type. She especially loved being around her grandchildren and taking long car rides every Sunday with her husband, Preston. Barbara will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her; she was a remarkable friend, wife, and mother.

A memorial service will be held Friday, June 26, 2026, at 11:00 AM at The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with burial following at Ashland Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Memorial donations are suggested to the Presbyterian Day Care Center in Jacksonville.
