Barbara M. McDaniels, 90, of Meredosia, IL died Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Scott County Nursing Center in Winchester.

She was born March 21, 1934, in Warrington, England, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Davis) Rylance. She married Thomas E. McDaniels and he preceded her in death on August 5, 2015.

Mrs. McDaniels graduated from high school in Warrington in 1949, at the age of 15. She then met Tom in Warrington and came to the United States in April of 1953. She and Tom were married in Brooklyn, NY on April 8, 1953. Their first home was Beale Air Force Base in California.

Barb and Tom have three children, Carol (Larry) Baker and Walter (Patty) McDaniels, both of Meredosia, and Robert (Lorraine) McDaniels of Galeton, PA. She also has 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson and one great-great granddaughter on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a granddaughter, Lindsey McDaniels; a grandson, Thomas John McDaniels; two great granddaughters, Skyyla Jones and River Jackson; a daughter-in-law, Elsa McDaniels; and her brother, Arthur Rylance.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Meredosia, with burial at Oakland Cemetery.
