Barbara Beddingfield Powers, 83, of Jacksonville, IL, died Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 10, 1938, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Harold and Margie Keefauver Beddingfield. She married Donald L. Powers in Las Vegas, NV and he preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 2012. She is survived by three sisters, Rose Marie Beddingfield, Janice Frailey (deceased husband, James) and Carolyn Sue Beddingfield, all of Jacksonville; one brother, Bruce Beddingfield of Liberty (deceased wife, Alice); and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Harold Beddingfield, Jr. (surviving wife, Gloria), Everett Eugene Beddingfield (deceased wife, Linda), Larry Leroy Beddingfield (deceased wife, Diana), Gerald Beddingfield (surviving wife, Gail), Francis Wayne Beddingfield (surviving wife, Connie), and Fred Beddingfield (surviving wife, Serena); and two nieces and one nephew. Barbara was a graduate of Bluffs High School. She had been a sales associate at several retail stores around the country including Walgreens and K-Mart in Jacksonville, IL, Joselyns in Cheyenne, WY, K-Mart in both Utah and Minnesota, and finally was a door greeter at Walmart in Canton, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation will be held 1-2 pm Friday, June 3, 2022, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville with a graveside service to follow at Oakland Cemetery in Meredosia.
