Betty L. Stephenson, 82, formerly of Ashland, died Saturday, April 13, 2024, at The Grove Health and Rehab Center in Jacksonville.

She was born June 16, 1941, in Cass County, the daughter of Finis and Elizabeth (Bernard) Wallace.

She is survived by her two children, Reggie (Linda) Stephenson and Shelley (Don) Shive, all of Ashland; three step grandchildren, Brendon (Kara) Little, Rachael Little and Cassie (Chris) Veach; three great grandchildren, Anna, Harper and Owen; one sister, Barb Miller of Canton; and one brother, Ron Wallace of California City, CA.

Betty had worked as a CNA for twenty-three years at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia. She had also been a cook for Ashland School District. She loved her given family and had a special bond with her extended family on the Stephenson side.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family burial will be held at a later date at Berea Cemetery. Memorial gifts are suggested to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Ashland is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be sent online at buchanancody.com.
