William Edward "Bill" Sorrill, 80, of Virginia, Illinois passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025.

He was born September 19, 1945, in Virginia the son of James and Audrey (Hill) Sorrill.

He is survived by one sister and two brothers, Mary Lou (J.R.) Davey of Litchfield, Richard (Donna) Sorrill of Nescopeck, Pennsylvania, and Kenneth Sorrill of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Ronald E. Sorrill; and one sister, Gloria Dickerson.

Bill had worked at Bohn Aluminum in Beardstown and more recently worked as a maintenance worker for Davis Apartments in Virginia. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Germany and France. He was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, and playing cards. Bill loved his family, extended family, and friends. He could carry on a conversation with anybody.
