Billy D. Ervin, 72, of Ashland, Died Friday, August 25, 2023, at Jacksonville Skilled Nursing and Rehab.

He was born Jan. 6, 1951, in Jacksonville, the son of Clarence Junior and Lyla Fern (Mullens) Ervin. He married Patsy Chaney in Virginia, and she survives.

He is also survived by his son, Matthew Ervin (Tamera Norton) of Ashland; one step daughter, Angelic Mandrel of Springfield; two grandchildren, William Ervin and Lexi Ervin; six sisters, Joyce Merriman of Virginia, Debbie Hish of Salina, KS, Brenda (Tom) Harrison of Virginia, Jackie (Bill, Jr.) Garver of Virginia, Carolyn (Roger) Sweatman of Jacksonville, Jan (Donni) Blakeman of Virginia, and Mikel (Lynne) Ervin of Petersburg; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bill had worked for Wareco in Jacksonville for over 30 years. He later worked for Molo Petroleum in Virginia. He enjoyed fishing and going to the races. He especially loved his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Cremation rites have been accorded. The family will host a visitation which will be announced soon. Memorial gifts are suggested to Bill's family in care of Patsy Ervin. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Ashland is assisting the family. Condolences may be sent online at buchanancdoy.com
