Charles "Chuck" Werries, 67, of Jacksonville, died Friday, November 17, 2023, at his home.

He was born January 27, 1956, in Jacksonville, the son of Donald D. and Leona Mae (Baldwin) Werries. He married Lisa Hughes in 2006 at their home, and she survives.

Chuck had two sons, Matthew Werries of Meredosia and Garett Werries (deceased). He is survived by his stepchildren, Adam (Robin McKinley) Schnake of Virginia, Cara (Kyle) Crain of Winchester, and Brenna Schnake (Daniel McQuillen) of White Hall; grandchildren, Madalynn and Nolan Werries; stepgrandchildren, Caleb Schnake, Eli and Eryn Crain, and Emrie, Darcie, and Brooks McQuillen; brother, Mark (Susan) Werries of Gillette, WY; and special friends, Mike and Pat Mussatto.

Chuck graduated from JHS in 1974. He worked as an electrician. He was a member of the IBEW Local #193 out of Springfield, starting in 1976, until his retirement. He loved nature, hunting, fishing, (and the occasional Keystone). Mr. Werries was very proud of the home he and Lisa built.

A memorial service will be held at 1pm, Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Memorials may be donated to the First Baptist Church or the Jacksonville Public Library. Condolences may be left online at buchanancody.com.
