Obituary

Charlotte Grace Coats Glorio, of Jacksonville, IL, died Monday, July 18, 2022, at White Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born October 20, 1932, in White Hall, the daughter of Darrell and Helen Lund Hanley, she married Stewart Carl Bresovitz, who preceded her in death. She later married Thomas Robert Coats Sr., who then preceded her in death on August 20, 1981. On May 17, 2003, Charlotte married Devo Glorio. He passed on November 3, 2021. Five sons survive in her memory: John W. Coats, of Columbia, MO; John M. Coats, of Manchester; Harold R. Coats, of Roodhouse; Howard D. Coats, of McHenry; and Paul J. Coats, of Powder Springs, GA. One of her sons, David R. Coats, preceded her in death. Charlotte loved each of her fourteen grandchildren: Derek, Holly, Katrina, Thomas, Erika, Michael, Andrea, Lesley, Caleb, Bitzy, Joseph, Joshua, Jordan, and Rachel. She also cherished her twenty great-grandchildren: Sam, Eva, Leah, Carter, Reilly, Abigail, Aubree, Kyla, Joel, Navy, Dylan, Alyson, Addison, Sullivan, Ramona, Beckett, Louisa, Elliot, Alice, and Quinn. She also joyfully welcomed one great-great grandchild, Brixten, into the world. Charlotte served various churches in different capacities. She served as president of Womens Aglow many times, and either coordinated or participated in the prayer chain of every church she attended. She loved to give and supported dozens of ministries along with providing for the needs of other people in her life. She crafted and gave away many ceramic art pieces, Christmas ornaments and thousands of bookmarks to the people she loved. She also enjoyed taking all her boys to Alley Springs in MO, where they all still go at least once a year. She graduated in 1994 from Rhema Training Center in Tulsa, OK, where she added to her serving skill set. She also attended Blackburn College in Carlinville, and was thrilled to visit Jerusalem and other sites in Israel. Charlotte enjoyed her work as homemaker, mom and grandma, raising her boys to love both God and people. She was a quiet hero who influenced those around her by example. She was blessed and she knew it! A private family service will be held at a later date. The family is being assisted by the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
