Christopher (Chris) L. Preston, 50, of Springfield passed away November 25, 2024.

He was born February 24, 1974, to Mark Preston and Cynthia Beddingfield in Jacksonville Illinois and they survive.

Christopher had two sons, Jacob Preston and Austin Volk; one sister Stacey (Amy) Preston; one niece, Nova; Stepdad, Everett Beddingfield. He is Preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents, Wallace and Judy Preston, Maternal Grandparents Robert and Carol Garner; Aunt, Cheryl Hannel; Uncle, Bill Garner.

Christopher was a graduate of Jacksonville High School. After school he started working in construction and maintenance. While he worked for the construction company, he also had his own business on the side.

Christopher loved golfing, his camping retreats, hanging out with friends and going to music shows. Christopher especially loved his dog, Roxy.

Christopher will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Memorials are suggested to Helping Hands of Springfield or the Animal Protective League in Springfield. There will be a visitation from 10am-12pm December 2, 2024, with a service following immediately after at 12pm at Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville. The family has requested casual attire.
