Cynthia Jane Gutmann, 94, of Ashland, IL passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, 2022, at home. She was born Feb. 7, 1928, near Murrayville, the daughter of Harry Sr. and Mabel (Jones) Rimbey. She married John Thomas Gutmann Sr. in 1946 and he preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 1986. She is survived by two sons and one daughter, John (Betty, deceased) Gutmann Jr., Richard (Kelly) Gutmann, and Nancy Gutmann-Kelly, all of Ashland; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and special friend, Audie Alexander. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Randy; and nine siblings, Charles, Hardin, Harry, Tom, Mildred Gross, Marjorie Gibbins, Ruth Hart, and two in infancy. Mrs. Gutmann was a member of Ashland United Methodist Church, the Dorcas Circle, and Ashland Womans Club. She was an avid Jeopardy fan, and enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and playing pinochle. She was also a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Fighting Illini sports. A private family burial will be held at St. Augustine Cemetery in Ashland. The family will host a celebration of life gathering 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022, at 122 N. Yates in Ashland.
