Dr. D. Robert Beckett Jr., 77, of Jacksonville, IL, died Wednesday, June 23, 2021, in Jacksonville after an extended illness. He was born March 12, 1944, in Cadillac, MI, the son of Donald Robert Beckett Sr. and Esther Kellogg Beckett. He was married to Linda Way Blesse and she survives. He is also survived by his stepson, Jason Blesse of Jacksonville; one sister, Brenda Schouten Beckett of The Netherlands; one brother, Jim (Kathy) Beckett of Hayward, WI; a niece, Jenni (Jon) Arndt of Delafield, WI; and one nephew, Jeremy (Heather) Johnson of Wisconsin. Dr. Beckett was an Oral Surgeon working for the State of Illinois for many years before going into private practice in Jacksonville, retiring in 2014. He was a veteran of the Vietnam war, serving as a Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force. A private burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.
