Daniel James Harris, 43, of Ashland, Illinois, died peacefully at his home on August 10, 2025. He was preceded in death by his mom, Marjorie (Young) Harris.

He is survived by his dad, Paul Harris Sr.; his brothers Paul Harris Jr., and Nathan (Stephanie) Harris; and three nieces and one nephew; his best friend and companion Melissa Hobbs: Aunt Tange; and his faithful dog, Bozo; all of Ashland. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Daniel worked hard as a roofer for as long as he was able. In his spare time, he loved fishing, hunting, playing pitch when he could get a game together, or just drinking beer and chilling around the fire with Mel and Bozo, as well as anyone else who wanted to join in, while always having something on the grill.

A funeral service will take place on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Ashland at 10:30 a.m. The family will meet with friends on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 4-6 p.m. at the First Baptist Church.
