Danny Howard Bilyeu, 72, of Meredosia, IL, died Monday, December 16, 2024, at his home.

He was born April 20, 1952, in Springfield, the son of Dean and Patricia Ann (Greenwood) Bilyeu. Danny married Shriley Elben on February 10, 1995, in Jacksonville, and she survives.

He is also survived by his daughter, Christina Brant of Meredosia; brother, Mike Bilyeu; and many friends.

Danny graduated from Springfield Southeast High School on June 4, 1970. He attended Brigham Young University in Utah in 1971. Danny then went into the U.S. Army from 1972 – 1974. He was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri and then served in Germany. Danny was a Marksman M16 and Sharpshooter Grenade. He was also a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the American Legion in Jacksonville. He loved to fish and lift weights. Danny was also a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, January 2, 2024, at Oakland Cemetery in Meredosia. The family will meet friends at the cemetery from 2:30 until the time of service.
