David Lynn Rochester, 73, of Virginia, IL died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2021, at his home. He was born May 4, 1948, in White Hall, the son of Paul E. and Edna M. DeShasier Rochester. He married Nancy J. Hatfield Zimmer on Sept. 24, 1999, in Virginia and she survives. He is also survived by two daughters and one son, Gena (Atwood) Huff of Jacksonville, David P. (Chrissy) Rochester of Virginia, and Jody (Brad) Racey of Jacksonville; two stepdaughters, Holly (Tom) Lannon of Athens, and Chrissy (Ryan Hitt) Zimmer of Seattle, WA; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one brother, Bob Rochester of Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Rochester worked for CASSCOMM in Virginia for many years. He had also served as a volunteer firefighter with the Virginia Fire Department for 34 years. Dave "Rocko" enjoyed woodworking and playing golf. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 20, 2021, at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia.
