Dawn B. Young, 74, of Jacksonville, IL passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

She was born Nov. 20, 1950, in St. Louis, MO the daughter of Robert and Jean (Antle) Bandy. She married George E. Young on Nov. 1, 1980, in Jacksonville and he survives.

She is also survived by her sister, Holly (Jim) Campbell of Webster Groves, MO; and her brother, Kevin Bruce (Betsy) Bandy of Miami, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Young was a graduate of Riverview Gardens High School in St. Louis and then earned her Bachelor's Degree from University of Missouri-St. Louis. She worked for Colorcraft for many years as a marketing representative mainly in the St. Louis area. She was very active supporting many charitable organizations, loved bargain hunting and especially enjoyed giving things away. Dawn was the kindest, most generous person you could ever meet.

A private service will be held at a later date, with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be left at buchanancody.com.
