DeAnte J. Overton, 24, of Jacksonville, IL passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025, at his home.

He was born April 4, 2000, the son of Richard Overton Jr. and Katherine Sims. He was engaged to Hailey Jordyn Brown.

DeAnte is survived by his son, Ontavious Overton; his stepfather, Will Clinton; his two brothers, Austin Sims Sr. and Tony Watts; three sisters, Charde Brown, Jade Ross and Akeya Overton; and many other family members and friends who were considered family. He was preceded in death by Clarence Watts, who he considered his father.

DeAnte was an amazing father. He loved spending time with family, especially his fiancé and son. He also loved fishing, dirt bikes, paintball, hanging out with his friends, and videogaming.

DeAnte's family would like to thank everyone for their continued thoughts, prayers, and support during this difficult time.

A funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
