Deborah (Cowan) Mullinix, 71, of Jacksonville, IL passed away peacefully on Monday, March 27, 2023, surrounded by family, at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital. She was born on July 6, 1951, to Sam and Christine (Willis) Cowan of Pleasant Plains. She married Jon "Kent" Mullinix on August 22, 1970. Kent survives, along with their children, Jennifer Million and Jesse Mullinix, and granddaughters Sydney Mullinix and Bella Mullinix, all of Jacksonville. She is survived by her eight siblings, [Barb (Rick) Blakeman, Bonnie (Dave) Sinclair, Gail (Ron) Roberts, Dottie (Dave) Smock, Tim (Nancy) Cowan, Steve (Carlene Pappas) Cowan, Stacey (Brad Cardosi) Skeeters and Brad (Sarah) Cowan , all of central Illinois,] along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, Marvin and Mildred "Mickey" Mullinix. Debbie worked for Jacksonville Memorial Hospital for over 40 years. She was very proud of and loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters. Debbie loved people and never met a stranger. She was a proud two-time breast cancer survivor. She was affectionately known as "Silver" by many because of her beautiful, soft, silver hair. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed watching high school and college basketball as well. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Grace United Methodist Church. The family will meet friends 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.
