Deloris Ailene Battefeld, 84, of Meredosia, IL, died Thursday, March 3, 2022, in Canton. She was born Nov. 3, 1937, in Meredosia, the daughter of Walter and Carrie Boehs Clark. She married Harold Battefeld on Dec. 14, 1956, in Meredosia, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 27, 1997. She is survived by her son, Mike (Michelle) Battefeld of Lewistown; three grandchildren, Katie Battefeld (fianc Robert Moore) of Lewistown, Kevin (Kelsey) Battefeld of Havana, and Mallory (Evan) Daly of Cuba; three great grandchildren, Hudson and Ayla Battefeld and Liam Daly; and one sister, Anna Bunch of Versailles. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Robert Clark (surviving wife Shirley of Perry) and Gary Clark (surviving wife Carol of Meredosia). Mrs. Battefeld was a 1955 graduate of Meredosia High School. She had worked as a rural letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office for 30 years. She enjoyed traveling and was an accomplished quilter. Deloris especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Mar. 7, 2022, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Meredosia, with burial at Hersman Cemetery.
