Don Clark, 85, of Springfield, IL died Friday, January 19, 2024, at Jacksonville Skilled Nursing and Rehab.

He was born Feb. 6, 1938, in Wilkinson, WV, the son of Edward and Jessie (Copley) Clark. He married Charlene M. Cole on August 16, 1997, in Hamilton, OH and she survives.

He is also survived by one daughter, Donna Newman of Brownsville, IN; three sons; Gregory (Julie) Winn of Fate, TX, Douglas (Glenda) Appelt of Auburn and Thomas Appelt of Auburn; several grandchildren; and one sister, Doris Clark of Indianapolis, IN. He is also survived by two sons, Ryan Clark and Jererl Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Debbie Norton; one son, Doug Clark; and one brother, Bobby Clark.

Don served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1959 as an airborne radio operator. Following his active service, he served in the Air Force Reserves for an additional four years. He was a talented musician and had traveled with many different bands over the years.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held 10:00 am Friday, January 26, 2024, at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. Memorial gifts are suggested to Lewy Body Dementia Association. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of arrangements.
