Donna J. Medlock, 89, of Buford, GA and a former Jacksonville, IL resident passed away on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024.

She was born on July 26, 1935, in Meredosia, IL the daughter of Welsey and Margaret K. (Bridgman) Hobson. She married George A. Medlock on Nov. 12, 1960, and he preceded her in death on May 1, 1985.

She is survived by two daughters, Colleen (Ed) Aring of Buford, GA, Susan M. Medlock of St. Simon's Island, GA; one stepson, George A. Medlock II of Jacksonville, IL; four grandchildren, James (Denise) Aring of Woodstock, GA, Julie (Adam) Austin of Brunswick, GA, Kristen (Shane) Warford of Buford, GA, and Katie (Dan) Odom of Powder springs, GA; six great grandchildren; one sister, Judy (Harold) Merris of Mt. Carmel, IL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.

Mrs. Medlock grew up in Meredosia, IL before moving to Jacksonville upon marriage. She had worked as a bookkeeper at various automobile dealerships for many years. Donna enjoyed reading, taking rides in her car, her dogs, and she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will held Monday, Dec. 30, 2024, at Diamond Grove Cemetery, following a visitation from 1-2 at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Memorials are suggested to Dementia Association of America. Condolences may be left at buchanancody.com.
