Donna Lee Solon, 78, of Springfield, IL passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026, in Jacksonville.

She was born October 14, 1947, in Chicago, the daughter of Ernest and Evelyn (Lazar) Shavitz.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Brock Craft) Weidman of Seattle, WA; her son, Matthew Solon of Los Angeles, CA; one grandchild, Eleanor "Andy" Craft of Seattle; and two brothers, Mark (Debbie) Shavitz of Las Vegas, NV, and Russell Shavitz of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her partner, Paul Allen.

Donna earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Sangamon State University in Springfield and worked as a computer programmer. She was a talented fiber artist as well as a gifted quilter and weaver.

The family will be holding a Shiva at Barbara's home in Seattle from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday August 15, and there will be a zoom service on Sunday August 16 at 1 p.m. Please contact Barbara for more information.
