Duane L. Daniel, 66, of Jacksonville, IL passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at his home surrounded by loved ones, including his nearest and dearest friend, Patty Hudson.

He was born May 29, 1957, in Jacksonville, the son of Dorthy Daniel, and she preceded him in death.

Mr. Daniel attended Jacksonville Business & Careers Education and also Flamingo Beauty College. He worked as a hair stylist alongside his mother in their shop, Jo-Lo Beauty Shop, in Jacksonville. He also worked for Pathway Services as a Residential Aid, beginning in 1994 until his retirement in 2022. His work with Pathway was the best experience of his life. Duane had also been involved with the Special Olympics and enjoyed music and movies. He was an animal lover and he loved his house plants.

A combined graveside service for Duane and Dorthy will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Arcadia Cemetery. A time of sharing will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2024, followed by a visitation until 6 p.m. at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Casual dress is requested, especially tie-dye shirts and shorts. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be left at buchanancody.com.
