Edgar E. Robinson, Jr., 94, of rural Ashland, IL, died Monday, July 8, 2024, at Illinois Veteran's Home in Quincy.

He was born Oct. 31, 1929, in Alexander, the son of Edgar E. Robinson, Sr. and Minnie (Foster) Robinson. He married Joyce D. Rebbe on March 6, 1955, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Neelyville, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 13, 2021.

He is survived by two daughters, Linda (Rick) Barrow of Versailles and Sharon Robinson of rural Ashland; two grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Barrow of Franklin, KY and Samantha (David) Ackerman of Versailles; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one brother, Clyde Eugene Robinson; one half-sister, Emma Grady; and two half-brothers, John Swain and Kenneth Swain.

Mr. Robinson was a 1947 graduate of Ashland High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and later served on the Ashland American Legion Honor Guard. Junior was a life-long farmer in the Ashland area. He was a member of the Prairieland Heritage Museum and served on the boards of Prentice Farmers Elevator and Berea Cemetery. He was also a member of several antique tractor clubs. He was of the Lutheran faith and was active in Salem Lutheran Church and School.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Friday, July 12, 2024, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville, followed by a graveside service at Berea Cemetery, south of Prentice.
