Elizabeth M. Dowson, 78, of Arenzville, IL, died Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Heritage Health in Beardstown, IL.

She married Thomas E. Dowson on November 10, 1964, in Pike County, Illinois. She is survived by three sons, Andrew Dowson (wife Kim) of Rushville, Jeffrey L. Dowson (companion Jackie) of Rushville, and Thomas E. Dowson Jr. of Jacksonville; two daughters, Theresa Lawyer of Woodson, and Sara Wilson of Indianapolis, Indiana; one daughter-in-law, Kim Dowson of Chandlerville; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas; a son, Charles Dowson; a daughter, Mary Beth Dowson; two granddaughters, Erica Lynn Dowson and Alisa Anderson; and a son-in-law, Tim Wilson.

She enjoyed working at Burrus Seed Farms, bird watching, and being outdoors.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a private service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Beardstown Ambulance Service. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Meredosia is assisting the family. Condolences may be left at buchanancody.com.
