Erna Lee (Staake) Dickman, 88, formerly of Jacksonville, IL, died Friday, June 2, 2023, at Concordia Village in Springfield.

She was born Feb. 26, 1935, near Meredosia, the daughter of Julius and Laura (Roegge) Staake. She married Wayne W. Dickman on May 29, 1954, at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Meredosia, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 2013.

She is survived by her son, Jay Wayne (Nancy) Dickman of Houston, TX; granddaughter, Jessica Nicole (Adam) Kirby of Austin, TX; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Christine Ann Dickman; and two brothers, Ray Staake and Gail Staake.

Mrs. Dickman retired from Country Mutual Insurance Company where she was a claims representative for many years. She was a long-standing member of Salem Lutheran Church in Jacksonville, and was a past member of Salem Ladies Guild, Salem Altar Guild and Salem Quilters. Erna moved to Concordia Village Retirement Center in 2014. She enjoyed many volunteer opportunities while living at Concordia Village.

Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Concordia Village Chapel in Springfield, with burial following the service at Diamond Grove Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM prior to the service at Concordia Village. Memorial gifts are suggested to Concordia Village Benevolent Care Fund.
