Obituary

Frances Lucille Nordsiek, 91, of Pleasant Plains, IL, passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. Frances was born on July 25, 1931, the daughter of Floyd and Marie Turner Nordsiek, who preceded her in death. She will be greatly missed by her two nephews, Shawn Stribling (wife, Beverly) and Mark Stribling (significant other, Jody Thomson), both of Ashland; a great nephew, Brandon Stribling (wife, Andrea); two great nieces, Brittany Kesterson (husband, Blake) of Ashland and Callie Spurgin (husband, Cole) of Albia, IA; a step great nephew, Dustin Birch (wife, Jamie) of Ashland, MO; a great-great niece, Bexley Stribling; three great-great nephews, Jett Stribling, Maverick Kesterson, and Huxton Kesterson; and several very special cousins. She was preceded in death by her loving sister, Joan Stribling. Frances especially loved her role as "Auntnie" and was always very involved. She grew up in the Arenzville and Ashland area. She was employed by the State of Illinois, Brandt, and INB at Pleasant Plains. She was also a loving caretaker for both of her parents for many years. She cherished all of her wonderful friends and family and enjoyed time spent with each one. They were all special and helpful to her. She was thankful for all her personal help provided by Tashia and Grace, as they were very special as well. She was a long-time member of Ashland United Methodist Church. Family and friends will always remember Frances as having a smile on her face, cooking and baking, playing cards, and being a sweet person to all. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Janet Albers and the Pleasant Plains Rescue Squad for taking such good care of our precious Auntnie for many years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Pleasant Plains Rescue Squad: PO Box 290, Pleasant Plains, IL 62677, or Clayville Historical Society: PO Box 125, Pleasant Plains, IL 62677.
