Gina A. Brissey, 42, of Virginia, IL, died Friday, July 2, 2021, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville, IL. She was born Oct. 26, 1978, in Jacksonville, the daughter of John Stambaugh and Kathy Hudson. She married Nick C. Brissey on April 27, 2008, in Cass County, and he survives. She is also survived by three brothers and three sisters, Lisa (John) Tomlin of Springfield, Joe (Robin) Hudson of Virginia, Wayne (Kristy) Stambaugh of Lincoln, Jennifer (Jeremy) Filler of Springfield, David (Donna) Stambaugh of Jacksonville, and Kandy Smith of Virginia; her honorary mother and father, Robert and Marla Smith of Virginia; an honorary niece and nephew, Jade Lane and Ronnie Lane both of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Troy Stambaugh in infancy. Gina had worked for Starcrest Cleaners and Finks Cleaners, both in Springfield, for many years. She later worked at Dollar General in Virginia for several years. She also enjoyed babysitting "her kids" with Nick. Gina was an amazing homemaker and enjoyed decorating her home. She also enjoyed yard sales, movies, crafting, and playing video games. The family will host a memorial service 11 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2021, at Life Family Church, 16607 IL Route 125, Virginia, IL 62691.
