Glenda Riley Schleyhahn, 80, of Ashland, died Monday, August 28, 2023, at her home.

She was born June 9, 1943, in Decatur, the daughter of Ernest and Marjory (Noble) Riley. She married Bill Schleyhahn on Jan. 3, 1961, in Pleasant Plains, and he survives.

She is also survived by four children, Jim (Diane) Schleyhahn of Pleasant Plains, Annette Schleyhahn of Pleasant Plains, Jason (Jennifer) Schleyhahn of Bath, and Mindy Schleyhahn Gilbreth (Christopher Wester) of Pleasant Plains; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Christopher Jay Schleyhahn.

Glenda was a graduate of Pleasant Plains High School. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Ashland, where she volunteered her time and talent for crafting during Vacation Bible School. She also enjoyed prayer group and women's circle. Glenda was a local girl scout leader in Ashland for many years. She enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing cards. She especially loved being a grandma.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, Sept. 1, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Ashland, with burial at Pleasant Plains Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 9:30 – 11:00 am prior to the service at the church. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church of Ashland. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Ashland is in charge of arrangements.
