Harold Leroy Crowder, 81, of Jacksonville, IL, passed away at Springfield Memorial Hospital on June 12, 2022. He was born December 10, 1940, in Jacksonville, the son of John D. and Myrtle (Chaudoin) Crowder. He married Phyllis "Bette" Crowder June 26, 1979, in Las Vegas, NV, and she survives. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers and one sister, Monte and Clarence, and Patricia Cottingham. He is also survived by his sister, JoAnn (Joe) Dorris of Roodhouse; sister-in-law, Loretta Crowder; stepdaughter, Ann Elizabeth Duggan of St. Louis, MO; and stepson, Timothy Joseph Duggan of Roodhouse. A 1959 graduate of Jacksonville High School, Harold was employed by the City of Jacksonville Street Department for nearly 30 years and retired in 2003. Harold was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1963 to 1965, stationed in Hawaii. Cremation rites will be accorded. Private family committal services will be held at a later date at Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of the arrangements.
