Heidelinde M. "Heidi" Saylor, 80, of Naples, IL died Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Jacksonville Skilled Nursing. She was born Feb. 11, 1942, in Jagendorf, Czechoslovakia, the daughter of Alfred and Adelheid Yurkova Bernert. She married William D. Saylor in Germany and he survives. She is also survived by three daughters and two sons, Jennifer (James) Spires of Jacksonville, Helen Heidi (William David) Leamons of Bluffs, Alfred Daniel Saylor (Linda Saylor) of Merrimack, NH, Hans W. Saylor (Debbie Graham) of Jacksonville, and Christy A. (David) Smith of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren, Heather Spires, Elizabeth Johnson, Michael Spires, Erika Fricke, Anthony Saylor, Benjamin Saylor, and Joseph Saylor; seven great-grandchildren, Gauge (deceased), Hailey, Konner, Kyrie, Joxzer, Jericho, and Ariana; and two brothers, Franz Bernert and Hans Bernert, both of Germany. She was preceded in death by one great-grandson and two brothers, Alfred Bernert and Peter Bernert. Mrs. Saylor worked as a Chef for many years at the Boatel in Naples as well as several other area restaurants, including the Village Inn in Bluffs, Hoosiers in Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Country Club, and Merrigans. She was a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church in Arenzville. Heide loved reading and outdoor gardening. Services will be announced at a later date. Memorials are suggested to St. Fidelis Catholic Church or Meredosia Rescue Squad. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Meredosia is in charge of the arrangements.
