Ida Belle Leinberger, 92, of Jacksonville, IL, died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022, at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia. She was born June 5, 1930, in rural Cass County, the daughter of Lowell and Nellie Krieg Clemons. She married John A. Leinberger on Aug. 24, 1948, in Jacksonville and he preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 2006. She is survived by one daughter and two sons, Anita S. (Tom) Stephans of Springfield, Donald L. Leinberger of Jacksonville, and James A. (Rita) Leinberger of Chandlerville; three grandchildren, Sara Leinberger of Jacksonville, April (Jarod) Stock of Beardstown, and Katie Leinberger (fianc Brady West) of Murrayville; three great grandchildren, Matthew Yowell, Lucas Yowell, and Samuel Leinberger; half-sister, Edith Fowler; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, John W. "Bill" Leinberger; one daughter-in-law, Julie Leinberger; three sisters, Irene Cave, Clara Matthews, and Noreta Durbin; one brother, Milton Clemons; and one half-brother, Conrad Clemons. Mrs. Leinberger was a 1948 graduate of Virginia High School. Early in her life she was a stay-at-home mother, and then worked for over 20 years at EMI in Jacksonville. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Chandlerville. Ida enjoyed cooking for her family and sewing. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022, at Salem Lutheran Church in Chandlerville, with burial at Chandlerville Cemetery. The family will meet friends 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Memorials are suggested to Chandlerville Salem Lutheran Church.
