James Russell "Jim" Taapken, 55, of Ashland, IL passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024, in Jacksonville.

He was born September 19, 1969, in Springfield, the son of Rusell and Dolores (Reynolds) Taapken. He married Faith McHenry on September 19, 1998, in Springfield and she survives.

He is also survived by one son, Justin (Makenzie) Taapken of Ashland; one sister, Shelley Grant (Rex Jaronske) of Pleasant Plains; and one brother, Kelly Taapken of Springfield. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jim was a Line Manufacturing Supervisor in the Automated Division of Reynolds Consumer Products in Jacksonville. He enjoyed woodworking.
