Benjamin James "Jamie" Curry, 48, of Arenzville, IL died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 30, 1973, in Decatur, the son of Bruce and Janice Aper Curry. He married Jenna Fricke on Nov. 12, 2005, in Chapin and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter and son, Olivia and Levi Curry, both at home; his father and stepmother, Bruce and Nellie Bryant Curry of Mattoon; one sister, Stacy (Howard) Lapin of Fort Wayne, IN; one stepsister, Johnna (Bob) Targett of St. Mary of the Woods, IN; one stepbrother, Lonnie (Katie) Fitzgerald; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother. Mr. Curry was a 1992 graduate of Mt. Zion High School, and then attended Richland Community College and Eastern Illinois University. He worked as a mail carrier for the United States Post Office in Jacksonville, and knew every dog in town. He was a member and former Elder at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Chapin, and he had been a coach for his sons Triopia Little League Baseball team. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and following Triopia athletics. Jamie was a friend to everyone and was a loving family man who loved God and country. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Chapin, with burial at Chapin Cemetery. The family will meet friends 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Memorials are suggested to an education fund to benefit Jamies children in care of Jenna Curry.
