She is survived by her son, Todd Swinford (Gary Morris) of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Mary, Sheldon, Scott, Michelle, Alana (Josh) Dyer, and Cassie; and great grandchildren, Harrison, Brianne, Derick, Zachary, Ezra, and Malachi. Jane graduated from Danville High School and then went on to attend Brown Business College. She held several jobs throughout the years. Jane worked all her life, even up until a couple months ago. In 1946, at just 14, she got her first job working for the Meis Brothers and then for St. Elizabeth Hospital and Speigel Catalog Company in the 1950s, all in Danville. From 1962 to 1979, she was the legal secretary for Meachum, Foreman, & Clapper Law Firm, also in Danville. Jane and her husband also owned a grocery store, Swinford Star Market, in Rantoul, and were both realtors with Caldwell Bankers in Champaign for many years. Jane was also an assistant at the University of Illinois in the Athletic Assembly Hall for a time. From 1971 to 1973, she was the president of Vermillion County Legal Secretaries Association. For the past thirty-nine years, Jane has worked as a patient financial representative at Christie Clinic in Champaign.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and School for many years in Danville.

Jane loved to cook and watch old Hollywood films. She was also an avid reader and always had a book she was reading. She enjoyed golf, loved automobiles and was a fast driver. Jane had even drag raced in Indiana for a bit. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.
