Janet was a 1960 graduate of Bluffs High School and was proud to be a Bluejay. She worked as a residential care worker at Illinois School for the Deaf for many years. She was a very positive source in the stands watching her family, including her son Andy playing basketball at the University of Illinois, and enjoyed one-on-one time with all of her grandchildren. She had a strong faith in God and loved nature. She grew up in the country and always enjoyed going back to her roots and planting her flowers. Her biggest source of enjoyment was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the care given their mother by the staff at Jacksonville Skilled Nursing by suggesting memorials to them. Checks may be made out to Jacksonville Skilled and in the memo please put "Staff Fund".

A private service will be held at a later date, with burial at Bloomfield Cemetery. The arrangements are under the care of the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Condolences may be left at buchanancody.com.
