Janice Kay Dean Willmore, who grew up in Jacksonville and then went on to reside in Decatur, Lincoln, and Clayton Illinois, died on December 10th, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. She was born on October 5, 1948, in Burlington, Iowa. She was the daughter of Horace Clay Dean and Mary Eileen (Sylvester) Dean. She married Ronald Willmore on August 31, 1969. They had been married for 53 years. She is survived by two daughters. Jennifer (Willmore) Keithley of Hanna City, Illinois and Amy Willmore of Louisville, Kentucky. She has five grandchildren: Peterson, Wesley, Abigail (Melani), Kathryn and Alan. She is survived by one sister, Constance (Dean) Mudd of Jacksonville and one brother Henry Dean of Moweaqua. She had many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Mary Dean, her brothers Darrell and James Dean. Janice completed two years at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. She followed that by working as a medical record librarian, an office manager for Dr. Lee (Decatur) and as an administrative assistant for the radiology department at Decatur Memorial Hospital. She adored Jesus, her husband, and her family. She baked delicious desserts, picked wild blackberries, put together puzzles, and read voraciously. However, she will be most remembered for her kindness, joy, and love! She shared those generously with everyone who met her. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2022, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with burial at Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will meet friends will meet friends 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. Condolences may be left at buchanancody.com. .
