Robert J. "Joe" Harris, 36, of Philadelphia, IL died Friday, Apr. 28, 2023, at his home. He was born Sept. 18, 1986, the son of Jeff and Toni Anderson Harris. He is survived by his son, Drakken Harris of Philadelphia; his mother, Toni Robinson of Virginia; his father, Jeff (Amanda) Harris of Virginia; one brother, Scotty Harris of Virginia; and two grandmothers, Gladys (Richard) Rust of Virginia and Edra Anderson of Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, LeRoy Anderson; and paternal grandparents Robert L. Harris and John and Lela Harris Wulf. Joe was a 2005 graduate of Virginia High School. He then began a seventeen-year career at Cargill/JBS in Beardstown working in the Shipping Department. As a child, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his father, and he was known for making salve out of plantain plants. Most of all, Joe loved spending time with his son, Drakken. A time for sharing will be held 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Virginia, followed by a Celebration of Life gathering until 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to an education fund to be set up for Drakken in care of Scotty Harris.
