John Wesley Heather, 77, of Virginia, IL died December 19, 2025, at Cass County Senior Living in Virginia.

John was born April 27, 1948, in Breese, IL, to Thomas Sr. and Alta (Parsons) Heather.

John is survived by his sisters, Carolyn (Ben) McDonald, Mary (Elmer) Kenney, both of Davenport, IA, Diane (Derren) Siltman of Springfield; brothers, James, Thomas Jr. (Barbara Heather of Ashland, and Timothy Parsons Heather of Springfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Judy and Patty, and brothers, Charles, Bob, and Edward.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at McKendree Chapel Cemetery, west of Keysport, IL. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left at buchanancody.com.
