Lois "June" Allen, 90, of Jacksonville, IL, died Thursday, September 26, 2024, at The Grove Nursing and Rehab in Jacksonville.

She was born June 27, 1934, in rural Shelby County, the daughter of Joseph Paul and Lois (Barbee) Lane. She first married Jerry Kuykendall, and later divorced. June then married David J. Allen Sr. on June 23, 1979, in Woodson. He preceded her in death on October 16, 2014.

June is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Scott) Whitlock of Franklin and Sue Kuykendall of Champaign; granddaughter, Linsey (Derek) Feldman of Michigan; and sisters, Judy (Jon) Hubbard of Blue Mound and Mary Frances "Fran" Miller of Taylorville (deceased husband, Ray). She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Lynn Starner; and siblings, Charles Lane, Bill Lane, Jean Lane, and Joan Greenwood.

June was an avid reader, enjoying all genres. She also loved working in the yard and caring for her flowerbeds. June was an avid St. Louis Cardinal's Fan.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A private burial will take place at Diamond Grove at a later date. She will be interred with her daughter, and next to her husband, David.
